Barrhaven Canada Day needs a new team after fireworks cancellation

Barrhaven’s fireworks were stopped by weather, but they were not rescheduled because of money. In a Bugle interview, Canada Day Barrhaven Inc. President Darrell Bartraw said the 2026 event covered its bills only because the fireworks were cancelled instead of staged later. He has served 16 years and says the celebration now needs a new team to take on the fundraising, permits, equipment, cleanup and day-of work.
