Route 75 detour now runs through the August long weekend as Scott Street stays closed

Scott Street between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue closed Monday, July 27 at 7 a.m. for emergency watermain repairs. That stretch is nowhere near Barrhaven, but OC Transpo says route 75, the Barrhaven Centre route, is detoured in both directions between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue by way of Bayview Station Road, Burnside Avenue and Parkdale Avenue, along with routes 12, 13, 57 and 61. Several Scott Street stops are closed, with temporary stops added along the detour.

OC Transpo now says the closure runs until 6 p.m. on Monday, August 3. That is a change from the earlier plan to reopen Scott Street on Sunday, August 2 for IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa, so route 75 riders should expect the detour to stay in place right through the long weekend.

IRONMAN runs citywide on Sunday, August 2, but its road closures are downtown and along the river parkways: no Barrhaven, Stonebridge, Half Moon Bay or South Nepean streets are on the City's closure list, and no Barrhaven bus route is listed for an IRONMAN detour.
